湯廣正是社團法人安全臺灣學會副研究員、國立臺灣大學中國大陸研究中心副研究員、美國智庫太平洋論壇（Pacific Forum）非常駐研究員(2026 Nonresident Vasey Fellow)及青年領袖計畫成員、臺灣國防研究倡議共同創辦人暨兵棋推演計畫主持人、KTT的科普兵推設計者。

湯廣正的研究領域為解放軍、中國軍工產業及中國外交，發表散見於美國空軍大學Journal of Indo-Pacific Affairs、美國海軍戰院的CMSI Notes、美國智庫Jamestown Foundation的China Brief、The Diplomat、美國智庫Pacific Forum 的Pacnet和澳洲智庫 Australian Strategic Policy Institute的The Strategist。

K. Tristan Tang is an Associate Fellow at the Secure Taiwan Associate Corporation, an Associate Fellow at the Center for China Studies at National Taiwan University, Nonresident Vasey Fellow (2026) and Young Leader of the Pacific Forum, a co-founder of the Taiwan Defense Studies Initiative and project lead for wargaming, and the designer of KTT’s popular-science wargame.

His research focuses on the People’s Liberation Army, China’s defense industry, and Chinese foreign policy. His work has appeared in the U.S. Air University’s Journal of Indo-Pacific Affairs, the U.S. Naval War College’s CMSI Notes, the Jamestown Foundation’s China Brief, The Diplomat, Pacific Forum’s PacNet, and the Australian Strategic Policy Institute’s The Strategist.

His analyses and wargaming activities have been reported or cited by the U.S.–China Economic and Security Review Commission’s annual report, Associated Press, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, CNN, The Economist, The Financial Times, The Telegraph, Newsweek, Business Insider, Lianhe Zaobao （聯合早報）, Taiwan Plus, BBC Chinese, the Central News Agency （中央社）, Liberty Times （自由時報）, The Storm Media （風傳媒）, TaiSounds （太報）, and Watchout （沃草）.

He holds an M.A. from the Graduate Institute of Political Science at National Taiwan University and a B.A. in Public Security from the Central Police University.
